Loss
Mm.. something I wrote up today at school during break >.0
This one is about Cadence Sherwood, a character of mine in the RP D vs P III (though I don’t RP anymore =( )

It had been a long while since he had last visited their graves. Cadence reflected mildly, as he stood, a lonesome figure amidst a dilapidated area of the city of Tewen. With a blank gaze, he stared at the calm blue sky above himself.
Ironic that under such fine, peaceful weather, more lives were being lost, and further more graves to be dug for others out in the various parts of the city.
When will the war cease?
Will they be buried together? Or is there even enough left of them to be buried? Will there be any to mourn for them? Or have they all gone together? Questions, too many to comprehend, flew through his mind, swift as arrows.
Then, almost in response to his melancholic thoughts, then sunlight dulled as a malevolent cloud drifted slowly to spread about the once clear sky. Within seconds, droplets of moisture pattered down onto the dusty streets, the broken walls, the rubble that laid about everywhere, and, without exception, Cadence himself.
All too familiar these scene were. The freezing rain trickling through his hair, his shirt and his pants to invade his anguished body. He had howled in fury and in haplessness the last time he had been here, yet now, he stood here once again, no more than weary smile and pained eyes on his face.
The raging need for revenge had been replaced by grudging knowledge. Knowledge that revenge would not bring them back. That what was loss, was loss. That at the end of the road, there would be nothing left.
It was time to return to the twin’s apartment. He decided, turning his back towards the destroyed rubble, the only remains of where he once called home. Where his wife and two beautiful girls were now no more.
